Alex Grey

Amazing, bizarre, spiritual paintings. Tackles Big Ideas and in my opinion does very well.

He has done a LOT of work, and a lot of it is available in one form or another on his site. The one posted here is one of my favourites. He does all sorts of other stuff, including performance art and an incredible sequence in Tool's "parabola" video (bottom right image). This painting was used as the cover art for DMT: The Spirit Molecule (an extrememly interesting look at the role psychedelic drugs play in our lives. Can't recommend it enough if you like that sort of thing. I really should post a review...).

This is wonderful.

via Wohba, who's awesomeness cannot be overstated. Go check it out. It's all I can do to stop myself from just reposting everything that gets posted there.

So, yeah, it's pretty blurry, but there it is (probably).
