Rest In Peace, Scotty
James Doohan has passed awa, at 85.
I watched a lot of old skool Star Trek, back in the day.
I always liked that guy -- behind the scenes, mostly, he kept that whole damn bucket of bolts flying no matter how many times it got trounced. All becuase Kirk couldn't keep it in his pants.

[edit] In the interest of providing a more balanced picture of the man, here's a great summary of his life and times. Married an 18 year-old when he was 55! Holy crap!

In Absentia
Hello there. Sorry for the light posting for the past while. Work has been (and continues to be) very busy, as does the rest of life (for reasons I can't figure out).
Bluesfest was fun. Outdoor concerts rule. The Stars, Metric and Broken Social Scene put on an excellent show. It was a very dense day, in terms of things of interest. Met a few friends I hadn't seen in a while, met new people I'll never see again, and met the identical twin brother of my supervising prof, which was the hands-down bizarro-winner in a day filled with strange events. This all happened *last* weekend, I can't even keep up with myself.
I have shaved the fur off of my mother's dog's face. My compassion for the poor, blinded beast finally overrode my fear of conflict. She is now beautiful, I should post a picture.
Back to the grind. Smell ya later.
